Brewfinity Brewing - Pewaukee
Do you love brewing beer? Are you passionate about supporting local charities? Have you ever dreamed of seeing your beer professionally brewed and available to the community? You can do all of that by entering the Charitable Hops Homebrew Competition!
As part of Charitable Hops, you'll be helping support this year's beneficiary, Journey 21. Entering is easy—simply donate a 5-gallon batch of your homebrew to the event. You're welcome to bring additional homebrew to share, but only one beer may be entered into the Brewmaster's Choice competition. There is a secondary People's Choice award open to all homebrew samples.
If your beer is selected as the Brewmaster's Choice, you'll have the unique opportunity to work alongside the team at Brewfinity Brewing Company to commercially produce your winning beer. Once it's ready, we'll celebrate with a special release party in your honor and officially tap your beer. Even better, proceeds from the release event will also benefit Journey 21.
Tips for Winning Brewmaster's Choice
Brew a Clean, Defect-Free Beer
One of the most common issues we encounter is poor fermentation caused by inadequate yeast oxygenation. (Note: dry yeast generally does not require oxygenation.)
Sanitation Is Essential
Proper cleaning and sanitizing practices are critical to producing great beer. Make sure all equipment that comes into contact with your beer—including hoses, fermenters, and beer lines—is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Products such as PBW work well for cleaning before sanitizing. If using bleach, be sure to rinse completely.
Think Commercially
The winning beer should not only taste great but also be practical to reproduce on a larger scale and appealing to a broad audience. Brewfinity will package the beer in cans and distribute kegs to local establishments. While barrel-aged and specialty beers can be outstanding, they are often more difficult and time-consuming to produce commercially. We also consider overall drinkability and market appeal when selecting the winner.

We look forward to tasting your creations and raising a glass for a great cause!
